KISS Legend Gene Simmons Recovering After Scary Malibu Crash — Wife Shannon Tweed Shares Update

Rock Icon Gene Simmons Safe After Malibu Car Accident

Gene Simmons, the 76-year-old co-founder of the legendary rock band KISS, is on the mend after being involved in a car crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, according to reports from People and local law enforcement.

Authorities confirmed that around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Simmons’ Lincoln Navigator struck a parked car near the 25000 block of PCH. The musician was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution and was later released.

What Happened on the Road

Witnesses told deputies that Simmons appeared to lose consciousness briefly before the collision. There were no major injuries reported, and no other passengers were involved.

Police noted that no drugs or alcohol were suspected to be factors in the crash.

Shannon Tweed Gives a Health Update

Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed, told People that doctors recently adjusted her husband’s medication, which might have led to dehydration — something Gene “famously hates fixing” because he “doesn’t drink enough water.”

She added that Simmons is now recovering comfortably at home, surrounded by family.

In a light-hearted voicemail to NBC Los Angeles, Simmons joked:

“I’m doing fine. It was a little fender bender. It happens — especially if you’re a terrible driver like me.”

Reassuring Fans Worldwide

Simmons’ rep also confirmed he is “fine and already back to work,” thanking fans for their support and concern. The incident came just weeks before KISS’s 50th-anniversary celebration events in Las Vegas.

This isn’t the first time the musician has had a health scare — earlier this year, Simmons was briefly hospitalized in Brazil after dehydration during a concert performance.

The Investigation Continues

Officials from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have not released additional details, but the case remains under routine investigation. No charges are expected.
